In this tour, you will experience the real soul of Sarajevo during the centuries. We will review more than 500 years of history, starting from the establishment of the city during the Ottoman Empire, then going through the period of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Yugoslavian era until we reach today's Sarajevo.
Our starting point is the main square Baščaršija. Baščaršija represents the historical and cultural center of Sarajevo that still nowadays cherishes a tradition over 500 years old. With Sebilj, as the most recognizable landmark and fountain.
Furthermore, we will explore the coppersmiths street “Kazandžiluk”, one of the oldest streets in Baščaršija, which conserves the tradition since the 15th century.
Meanwhile, we are approaching the turbulent history of the Sarajevo City Hall “Vijećnica”, which is still considered a symbol of the city of Sarajevo since the 19th century..
As we continue, we will visit the Emperor’s mosque, an indispensable part of the Islamic tradition of Sarajevo.
Nevertheless, you will discover the story of the Latin bridge and beginnings of the World War I, as a turning point in modern history. We will visit the site of the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria.
We will walk by the Gazi Husrev Bey’s Bezistan, which is an endless detail that tells the story of the commercial life of the citizens during the Ottoman period.
The city’s turbulent history and reputation for multicultural, multiethnic, and multireligious tolerance, where the world’s major monotheistic religions coexist for centuries, make this tour a must.
In the sequent part of the tour, we will visit Orthodox Church, Catholic Cathedral, Old Jewish synagogue, Gazi Husrev-Bey’s Mosque and Clock Tower located in the very heart of the city. Although built in different eras, their significance is inevitable for the history of the city. Not just that, but all of them are only about 200m walking distance away!
In front of the Cathedral “Sacred Heart”, we will talk about Sarajevo roses – symbolic roses and leftovers of the Sarajevo siege.
On the other hand, we will walk next to Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures spot that has a symbolic meaning due to the cultural and religious influences which marked Sarajevo as a place where the east meets the west.

The tour is donates to charity that operates "Good will restaurants" trought the country. More than 1000 meals are served every day!
While walking through Ottoman, Austrian-Hungarian, and Yugoslav parts of the city you will learn about history, culture, legends and how local people live. We will also open controversial topics like war, religion, and human rights. Observe first-hand how coppersmiths create items out of shiny copper. We'll try our hardest to portray the spirit of Sarajevo as for us locals, Sarajevo is also a way of life.

Firstly, we will make an introduction, telling the most important parts of history and culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its beautiful capital – Sarajevo – a city which was the stage of the world's most important events three times. During the tour, you will find out why Sarajevo is called European Jerusalem and see the most important monuments in the Old Town of Sarajevo.
We will go to the most recognizable landmark of Sarajevo - Sebilj, the wooden fountain located on Baščaršija square, also known as Pigeon Square, and after that, you will enjoy a real flashback to the 15th century, enjoying unique copper craft in Kazandziluk street – the oldest street in the city of Sarajevo.
Our next stop would be Sarajevo City Hall - the most beautiful Austro-Hungarian-era building, another symbol of Sarajevo. Beside the city hall, this building served as National and University Library.
One of the most interesting spots of the tour will certainly be the medieval caravan Saray still testifying to the Ottoman influence on Bosnian culture and architecture.
Our guide will take you to the biggest and one of the most beautiful mosques in Sarajevo - Gazi Husrev-bey's Mosque. Nearby the most beautiful mosque in Europe, you will see a unique Clock Tower famous for showing a completely unusual time whose story our guide will certainly not miss to tell you.
After seeing the “Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures” spot, you will see the oldest Jewish synagogue in our city and learn more about the Jewish community in Sarajevo.
Later on, will continue in direction of the modern part of Sarajevo where you will find a completely different architectural style typical for the Habsburg Monarchy. We will see the imposing Cathedral and statue of Pope John Paul II who visited Bosnia twice. Right next to the Cathedral, we will talk about Sarajevo roses. We will also see the imposing orthodox church in Sarajevo - The cathedral of the Nativity of the Theotokos, and, later on, pass by the charming ottoman Bazar – Gazi Husrev-beys Bezistan.
Tour finishes next to the famous Latin Bridge, Franz-Ferdinand˙s assassination site, and this incredible story that changed the history of the world.
