As we take in the stunning view of the sea from the vineyard, you'll begin the class by learning the fascinating history of pesto from Spezia. Cesarina will explain the traditional system of using the best basil plants and carefully selecting high-quality ingredients to ensure the best flavor. Then, you'll learn the two methods of preparing pesto: using a mortar and pestle or an electric blender and you'll recieve tips on how to properly store the pesto to keep it fresh for as long as possible. After you've made pesto, you'll package it up to take home and enjoy. You can savor the fruits of your labor either when you return home or on a rocky cliff overlooking the sea. This small-group tour is an intermediate trek with the best views. Different from Cinque Terre Trek, this offers a more challenging trek with a rewarding destination – Portovenere. The pace is yours, so we provide a good time to enjoy yourself. It will take at least 7 hours of trekking to arrive in Portovenere. This is not for people who have vertigo, as the trek does go over some thin areas on the outer trail. After your arrival in Portovenere, the time is yours to swim, have a nice lunch, or just stroll the back allies. You will be given your ticket for the boat ride back to Riomaggiore or Monterosso. If the seas become high and all the boats are canceled. In that case, you will take the bus & train back to Cinque Terre. This trek can be 1 to 10 people, the normal average is 1 to 4 people on this tour.

From Manarola we go up along a path immersed in the Mediterranean vegetation along imposing cliffs overlooking the sea from which it is possible to admire the village from above with its vineyard terraces and its characteristic figures of the crib. We will pass by the pretty village of Volastra to reach the vineyard where we will stop and taste the local delicacies, accompanied by the exquisite wines of the Cinque Terre.
