We will begin the tour outside the Church of San Domenico , where the remains of Saint Catherine , an iconic figure of the city, patron saint of Italy and Europe, are still preserved. We will descend along streets and districts, up to Fontebranda , a magical place, and then go back up to Piazza Duomo. Behind it is Santa Maria della Scala , the oldest hospital in the world. The tour will have its natural conclusion in the monumental Piazza del Campo , the beating heart of Siena culture and an extraordinary architectural setting in which the famous Palio di Siena takes place twice a year.
