Tours & Activities in Mdina
Mdina is another must-see in Malta. In this tour we combine Mdina with Rabat too.
I take you through the town of Mdina, I'll explain the history, culture, and various things that you see in Mdina.
I will also give recommendations for places to eat throughout the tour.
We end the tour in Rabat, where there are even more places to enjoy food & drink.
After that there are many things to see in Rabat such as the Catacombs or St Paul's Cave. Or you could even visit other parts of Malta such as Dingli Cliffs or Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra (stone-age temples).
Please consider booking by Valletta tour: https://www.guruwalk.com/walks/45033-ben-s-valletta-free-walking-tour
Practical information:
- I accept cash, Revolut, or PayPal as forms of payment.
- If you're travelling to Mdina before the tour starts please take into account that traffic and delays are common, so please consider leaving around an hour before the starting time. I've had many guests who were confident they could make it on time miss a bus, or get stuck in traffic.
- Please do not book children/teens < 18 years old. They can join, but please do not book them, as they take up slots that can be used by adults.
- Children are welcome provided they do not disturb the other guests or the tour. Either by running around or by being noisy. This would be very distracting and disrespectful to the other guests and to the guide.
- It's true, it's marketed as a "Free Tour" but please consider the amount of effort the guide puts in, together with the quality of information, and the quality of the tour itself. A recommended donation amount is €10 per person. There are those who give more, which is VERY much appreciated and helps with the sustainability of the tour. Of course the amount is totally up to you to decide.
- Provided there are no sudden obstacles implemented by the local community, the tour is fully wheelchair accessible.
- Unfortunately the ground, road, walkways that we use in the tour can be slippery, uneven, have holes and/or obstacles. Please watch your step during the tour.
- Also unfortunately, cars in Malta might use the same road as we do, and as you might have noticed they drive quite fast in areas where people walk. So please take note of this and be aware.
Liability exclusion: By booking and/or participating in the tour, the participants agree, understand and acknowledge that the tour leader/operator will not be held liable for any damages (whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential), injuries (including personal injury), loss, accident, delay or inconvenience incurred to or by the persons participating in the tour and/or their property. The persons participating in the tour further agree to release the tour guide (and tour operator) from any liability, claims or actions arising from or related to the participation in the tour.
Mdina and Rabat, the most traditional Malta.
This tour is perfect for you to meet the most authentic Malta, full of history, traditions and surprises, The only free tour that permits you to get to know the marvellous medieval city of Mdina and the traditional town of Rabat.
Mdina is a dreamy city, conserved as if time had stopped itself forever in its roads and castles. So much so that here is where various productions for TV and Films have been shot to represent olden times and mythical worlds.
This is why we will begin by talking about the history of Malta and of the city, and of the life of its inhabitants, (who were they?, what did they use to do?) in medieval times, and the secrets and details that hide in the city, also visiting the most important places, including the filming areas of “Game of Thrones”, “Gladiator”... We will walk through the meandering roads, admiring the squares and we will look over the city walls, which offer one of the best views on our islands. The city is very small, so we will roam practically every corner.
After this visit to what used to be the most important city of the archipelago, we will continue through the town that was born around it, Rabat, which today remains a perfect example of the rural Maltese lifestyle and the charm of its traditional settlements. Streets with character and history, which help us discover a malta (which luckily) resists disappearing, We will walk through Rabat and we will speak of our Malta: the desserts, the inhabitants, the traditions and, overall the most beautiful corners. With this tour, we would like for you to get to know our history in the most pleasant way, our present in a sweet way and what makes this island so unique.
To finish off we will give you recommendations as to where to eat, what museums to visit or answer whichever question you may have, to ensure you have nothing worthy left unvisited in this area and its surroundings
Si reservais un grupo superior a 8 personas, se os contactará por un depósito y pago mínimo, que nos permite mantener grupos de tamaño adecuado y el pago de los servicios del guía.
