Tours & Activities in Sinaia
Once the endless forests of the Prahova Fence were reputed to be „The Bandit's Nest”. Over time it came to have the nickname of „The Cradle of the Romanian Dynasty”. Today it is a place worth seeing by monkeys once in a lifetime.
Until the end of the 17th century few dared to travel in this place, until a prince took refuge here and thus began the history of the Sinaia Monastery. Almost two centuries later, the one who would be the first king of Romania, Carol I, attracted by the wild beauty of the area, traveled here and decided to build a summer residence here, Peles Castle. In a short time the place became the favorite haunt of the Romanian upper class, and the area began to fill with luxurious vacation homes, hotels, casinos, restaurants and shops. At the end of the 19th century Sinaia was transformed into „The summer capital of Romania”.
The tour can optionally include a guided tour inside the castles, but the tickets will be paid separately upon entering and the visit can last between one hour and two hours.
Peleș Castle was the summer residence of King Carol I of Romania, the founder of the dynasty. The castle was built in the Gothic-Renaissance style and in its time was the most modern and beautiful in Europe and the world. It had elevators, central heating, plumbing and electric skylights. Today Peles is a museum and has a very large collection of armories and many objects from "La Belle Epoque" and that belonged to the family. In other words, it has everything a "fairy tale castle" should "have".
Pelisor Castle is the second most important building in the Royal Domain of Sinaia and was the residence of the second couple of the Romanian Dynasty, King Ferdinand and Queen Maria, the founders of Greater Romania. This one is a little smaller but no less interesting.
The tour is organized by a certified tour guide and is organized in small groups (maximum 10 people).
Your participation will be possible and guaranteed only with a previous reservation.
