Cultural Free Walking Tour around the old city of Chiang Mai
User rating

Chiang Mai is my beautiful city. It is the largest city in northern Thailand (and the second largest city in the country).
Although this beautiful city has a very interesting historical past that we will discover, in recent years it has become an increasingly modern city.

What better way to discover this city, its history, and its traditions, than with the help of a local. Allow me to accompany you to discover all the secrets of my city.
During the tour, we will visit some of the places and points of greatest interest.
We will visit the historic center and walk through its streets, full of life, restaurants, and massage centers (very typical in Thailand).
I am a local host to sharing and telling unknown, curious Chiangmai stories.
Besides, we will walk along the walls and visit some of the most relevant temples.

During the tour, we will visit:

  • Wat Phra Singh(Ticket fee 20 THB = 0,54€)
  • Wat Chedi Luang (Ticket fee 40 THB = 1,08€)
  • Wat Pantao temple (Free Ticket)
  • Craft market*
  • Stop for Thai fruits and desserts testing
  • Thapae Gate, the core gate in transporting trade in the past, has become a center of attraction and activities in the present day.
  • Wat Buppharam temple
  • Woven handmade shop
  • Fruits and flowers market in China town.

*Closed on holiday periods
End of tour in China town

Relevant information for tourists:
- When touring Thai temples, visitors may dress appropriately with shoulders and knees covered. It is the way of respect in Thai culture.
- During the walk I'll be more than happy to answer any of your questions and doubts. Hopefully, you'll get with me the most unforgettable experience in Thailand.
Will you miss it?

Morning Thai cooking class by Aromdii Cooking School
User rating
We are Thai couple growing up from different regions of Thailand and have been cooking for long time. We learned how to cook from our parents such as go to the market to pick up fresh ingredients, using spices & herbs then many tricks & basic cooking skills. When we married, we still cook and share our own food with each other all the time until now. In addition, we sometimes cook food for offering the monk as well. Our class offers you just 8 people per maximum (vegan or vegetarian are very welcome), all recipes are created from our many years of cooking experiences and some are mixed between the 2 cultures too. If you don't know what is your souvenir from Thailand, cooking could be your choice! Come to join us to make an amazing experience together! Cheers, Nok and Aek

Walk with me to see real Chiangmai
User rating

Chiangmai is famous for its beautiful ancient temples though there is much more to see and do mountainous landscape around the city provides a lot of wonderful natural attractions.
Join me on the tour so I can share with you many of the wonderful places in Chiangmai that tourists aren't always aware of. I welcome travellers that enjoy learning about Thai culture and have lots of fun in doing so.

On the itinerary, we will visit some of the main highlights of the city, such as:

  • Wat Ket Karaam

This temple is also known as Wat Sa Ket. Construction took place in the year 1428 during the reign of Phraya (King) Samfangkaen the 8th ruler of the Mantra Dynasty.  There is also a Wat Ket Museum which hopefully will be open the day that we tour.
(Please note that knees and shoulders must be covered when visiting Temples)

  • Timber Thatched Houses along the Mae Ping River

Chiang Mai was founded along the 353-mile Mae Ping River in the late 13th century. Some residents still live in wooden, Thai-style homes with thatched roofs along the riverbank just as their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. You can frequently see the occupants casting their fishing nets and washing their clothes in the river.  We will walk by and observe this way of life.

  • Warorot and Ton Lamyai Market's

We will cross the Chansom Memorial Foot Bridge (Khun Kaek) to visit Warorot Market (Kad Luang) which translates as “big market”. This is the most popular market in the city. This market is a historical landmark known for its variety of speciality Chiang Mai food and products. If you're after souvenirs then this is the place to shop. Because they are located next to each other we will also pay a visit to Ton Lamyai Market.

During the tour, I will be happy to answer all your questions. I will be happy to share with you my culture and memories, as well as the best-kept secrets that some locals don't even know.

I look forward to accompanying you and making you take home a memorable souvenir of my city!
