Adventure North, and experience an older, more traditional Hawaii on the famous Hamakua Coast.  Mauna Kea volcano last erupted some 4,600 years ago.  However, that hasn't changed the fact that the volcano is still impressing visitors and locals alike.  Along highways old and new, we'll head from the highlands of Waimea, to the coastal jungles of Hilo down Hawaii's Hamakua coast.  Our trip along this historic and beautiful part of the island begins with a drive along some of the most scenic backroads on the island.  The backroads of the Hamakua coast wind through lush jungle gulches, crossing rivers, and passing scenic ocean vistas.  It is an afternoon drive through a Hawaiian slice of Heaven.

Our VIP Private Coffee Farm Tour is a chance to learn about "crop to cup" Kona coffee production directly from the growers. Private tours are offered by appointment only for groups of two or more. You'll walk the farm with owners Steve & Joanie Wynn, enjoy delicious Kona coffee tastings & complimentary cappuccinos, plus have time to shop our farm store. We take an artisanal approach to growing our delicious, private-estate coffee. We personally tend to every phase of the process, micro-batch roasting on-site & shipping farm direct for supreme freshness. Our farm is located at 2200 feet on the tropical slopes of the Hualalai volcano. The high "mauka" climate creates ideal growing conditions for our Kona Typica trees. With cooler temperatures and plenty of rainfall, our fruit ripens slowly, resulting in beans of remarkable size & flavor. Coming in on a cruise? Experience the intense flavors of fresh hibiscus along with our flowers in syrup, preserves and tea, while you’re guided through our estate greenhouse and outdoor exploration garden. Everyone is familiar with the showy hibiscus flower, but we mainly grow the edible kind called Hibiscus Roselle. Roselle is a tropical plant historically used for medicinal purposes and still has many health benefits today. Actively enjoy both our indoor hydroponic farm and outdoor garden we use for multiple edible varieties. Savor the taste of each of our specialty products grown, harvested and produced right here on the farm. Immerse yourself in a behind the scenes tour of our farm with a 45-minute light walking tour with firsthand explanations from the owner, followed by hibiscus tea and other unique snacks. Take pictures and enjoy all the views of both the farm and ocean, all the while engaging in Q&A. We invite you to enjoy this uniquely tropical plant.

Kealakekua Bay is a marine sanctuary where you can snorkel with over 200 species of tropical fish. We will stop at sea caves, and one to two other historical stops along the way. Our tour is very unique because we provide a very intimate one on one experience with our guests. Our convenient check in location gives us a more private feel away from the larger tours, of 20-30 people. Our crew are very knowledgeable about the historical aspects of the Big Island, and the Kona coast. All-time zones are behind Hawaii so early isn't as early when you consider what time it is where you are from. HVNP takes approximately 4 hours with the current lava situation and includes Halemaumau crater, Nahuku Lava Tube, pit crater, lava tree molds, fissure crack, Pele’s hair, steam vents, pahoehoe, a’a. Meals are usually at the Volcano House because it has the best views of Halemaumau Crater. Several modifications can be made, usually by removing some stops in HVNP. Not in your budget? The luau is held at the beautiful Mauna Lani, Auberge Resort at Kalāhuipuaʻa, which is a historical area where ancient Hawaiians mastered the art of aquaculture and where King Kamehameha came to recuperate and work in the fishponds. Guests are welcomed with a traditional Oli (chant) in preparation for preliminary activities with the cast. After the activities, watch as the pig is taken out of the traditional imu pit before it is prepared for the Hawaiian buffet. The program is capped off by a performance of traditional and modern Hula dances, along with the spectacular Samoan Siva Afi (fire knife dance).
