This tour is going to take you to the most famous squares of Strasbourg. Starting by the discovery of our amazing cathedral and its 1000 years of history, we will lead you through the center of our old city, discovering the differents times which shaped it. You will see the main places and monuments and hear the stories around them, not forgetting the Strasbourg of nowadays, with its gastronomic culture, modern life, and nice addresses. The foundation of our homes and the old legends shared in the families will have no secrets for you anymore. You will cross the Ill, our river drawing the contours of the old town called the Grand Island. And there, you will reach the german district, a unique wilhelminian district from the german times. You will hear about the duality of the alsatian identity and history, a bridge built over war and peace, culture and language. And all of this, within a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, as we put all our efforts to personally create the tour. This is our way to share our story with you. With the Original Tour, the guide will lead around the squares of the Cathedral, Gutenberg, Kléber, Republique, and also in some less known places like Saint-Etienne square for example. From the still visible details, we will picture you the life of locals, leading you over the many bridges composing this cosy and unique part of our town. You will then walk over some of the last remains of the old fortifications surrounding the city, to finish with a marvellous point of view, where the whole district will be unravelled. With the Petite France Tour, the guide will lead you around the main monuments of the district, like Ponts Couverts, Barrage Vauban, or the pretty Pont du Faisan, but also through the places which give the district all its charming atmosphere like Place Benjamin Zix, Grand Rue, or Quai de la Bruche.

We will take a trip back in time to this era. You cannot leave Strasbourg without knowing its fascinating history of wars, making it the protagonist of the European scene and a symbol of reconciliation.

This freetour, unique in the city, will help us understand much better the changes in power between France and Germany in the last 3 centuries. We will walk from the majestic German Imperial Quarter: Neustdat—next UNESCO historical heritage—, whose Prussian architecture remained intact, until finishing with European Institutions and the beautiful Parc de l'Orangerie, with its relaxing lake and its storks!

We will meet in front of the Strasbourg Cathedral with Red Umbrella , where we will begin this free tour of the capital of Alsace . Did you know that, after the Second World War , the city became a symbol of Franco-German reconciliation ? We will tell you a lot of curiosities, some stronger than others.

We will start the tour walking along Rue du Dome , one of the most important streets in Strasbourg, full of surprises. The next stop will take place on Rue des Juifs , where we will notice a plaque that commemorates the presence of the Jewish community in this place throughout history.

We will pass by historical places such as Place Broglie and the town hall (Hotel de Ville) and arrive at the German Imperial Quarter of Neustadt , which was built by the German authorities during the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine . There we will see how the architecture of the Second Reich is preserved intact in the city, the Germany that was not destroyed.

We will take the tram at Place de la République (1€80 per ticket) After visiting the Rhine Palace, the former Imperial Palace, where we will talk to you about the architecture of the 'Neos' and their strategic design for the city. Passing through the Avenue of Peace, you will see the Jewish Synagogue and we will show you what it was originally like before its destruction.

Afterwards, we will arrive at the European Quarter , a symbol of peace after so many conflicts. There we will see the exterior of the Palace of Human Rights , which was inaugurated in 1995 and inside which houses the European Court of Human Rights .

Next we will approach the exterior of the European Parliament , the largest transnational parliament in the world, which has been the scene of important historic votes and the Council of Europe .

After two hours visiting this part of Strasbourg, we will say goodbye at the Parc de l'Orangerie after taking an unmissable tour.
