The Inquisition was undoubtedly one of the darkest episodes in the history of Spain . We are all familiar with the torture, the secrecy and the so-called “Black Legend”.
But do we know the victims? Witches, sodomites, ghouls, sorcerers, healers, heretics and dissidents. Who were these men and women? What were their sins and punishments?
On this visit we rescue their names and stories from oblivion, while we go through the 350 years of the Inquisition in Aragon. With a controversial imposition, this court was established in Zaragoza in the middle of the era of the Catholic Kings and to the displeasure of all Zaragoza society. In its more than three centuries in this land, it left a multitude of headquarters, prisons (public and secret) and countless anonymous and famous victims such as the famous Zaragoza painter Goya .
Come and discover this part of our dark history on an outdoor tour where we will visit the scenes that gave rise to some of the most tense and famous moments in Zaragoza.
