Things to Do in Brasov
Please note that my free walking tour is not suitable for kids under 5 & people with mobility issues.
Please get in touch with me before the tour if you have special needs.
My groups are small and I want all the people attending to have a good time.
Thank you for understanding!
Brasov area gets busy at weekends / in summer as it is a very popular holiday destination for locals, too.
Traffic jams are common around the castles, including on the National Road from Bucharest.
Brasov has a small airport and a few international flights to Italy, Germany, UK, Budapest and Poland.
Tickets for Peleș castle in particular sell out fast and long lines for Bran Castle, too even with skip-the-line tickets, especially at weekends.
Please feel free to get in touch with me if you need further assistance.

"In the east [...] a pleasant highland rises from the Hungarian lowlands, small in size, yet rich in natural beauty and treasures. [...] On sunny mountain slopes, vines glow and noble fruit trees bloom; wheat fields undulate in the valleys; game roams the forests; and there is no shortage of tame domestic animals. This is the land of Transylvania, and where something is lacking for the happiness of its inhabitants, they themselves are usually to blame." (GD Teutsch: History of the Transylvanian Saxons. 1st edition, Kronstadt 1858)
Embark on a journey through the eventful centuries of Transylvania and a community of ethnic German settlers whose heyday may be over, but whose name remains closely linked to the country and its arguably most beautiful city: the Transylvanian Saxons. My name is Carsten, and I, too, set out from the distant Germanic land to seek my fortune in the naturally blessed "Burzenland." As a longtime tour guide and trained historian, I would like to take you through the magical alleys and stories of this unique part of the world.
Book your tickets to Bran Castle and explore the castle that inspired the novel of the legendary Count Dracula. It's the most visited site in Romania!
