Enjoy with us a 90 min walk. Starting at the Train Station, we will take you to the most iconic places in the city. You will get to know the history and the daily life of Tigre's neighbours. We end the tour at Puerto de Frutos one of the most famous markets in Buenos Aires.
We will start our tour at the Tigre Fluvial Station, where we will take a collective boat from the Interisleña company.
IMPORTANT:
* Price of the collective boat not included: USD 6 round trip. Private transportation alternatives are available but must be agreed upon with the rest of the group.
* Lunch not included. If possible, the four available options will be offered to visitors. If it's a group, we will always choose the highly recommended La Capitana river inn (only from Friday to Sunday) or, from Monday to Thursday, the La Morada inn/store, which have a varied menu and affordable prices. In case of force majeure, we will opt for Alpenhaus Gasthaus or Viva el Delta.
In addition to enjoying the postcard landscapes from the boat window, during the journey we will provide a historical review and talk about current affairs in the Tigre delta, its customs, and the peculiarities of island life. At the same time, we will do bird watching and point out the fascinating local flora.
We will arrive at the dock of the La Capitana river inn on the wide Capitán River, where we can optionally have lunch in the shade of lush tropical-style trees, with a sandy beach and kayaks available, which you can enjoy for the designated time.
Then, we will continue walking through the mysterious paths of the Rama Negra Grande and Chico streams, observing the mixed architecture and flora - native and exotic - typical of the island, the house of Marcos Sastre. If we have lunch at La Capitana, we can cross the famous Lovers' Bridge, continuing along a wooded path with reeds and ancient trees until we reach the magical Noel Island. If open, we can visit the Monte Blanco Protected Natural Area, which has a wetland interpretation center and an exhibition of island-specific objects. Then, we can walk along its paths to the center of the island, observing the reed beds and ceibos, to understand the curious natural formation of the islands. Then, we will return along the towpath by the Espera stream to the public dock "La Mami" to return on the collective boat at 5:30 pm.
We will finish our tour at the Tigre Fluvial Station.
Let's walk through Tigre!
This tour, guided by a local resident, is a recommended experience to learn something about the history, culture, activities, and geography of the area, where the Paraná River Delta begins.
This tour does not have a fixed price; it is suggested starting at US$15 per passenger, depending on their satisfaction.
Tickets for sailing, museums, or lunch are not included and are optional.
We will enjoy:
- The view of the Luján River.
- Famous Rowing Clubs . Traditional
- Bars and restaurants.
- River stations, international and local.
- Emblematic fruit port.
The walk is not difficult, lasting just over two hours, at a relaxed pace and stopping for observations, plus a one-hour navigation (optional) through the first section of the delta, including passing in front of three museums and navigating five rivers and streams.
And there's always time to eat something and stroll through the port's traditional fruit stalls.
Hello, my future visitors! 😊
If you choose me as your guide to explore this beautiful city, you won't regret it. There's no one better than a local to tell you and show you how beautiful and important Tigre is... you'll fall in love!
This is just a preview, because the real experience will be much nicer and more fun when we share it together.
We will meet at the entrance of the Tigre train station, our starting point to begin the tour.
During the tour, you will learn a bit about the city's history and why Tigre was (and still is) such an important place. I will also show you its most emblematic sites and everything we will be exploring.
We will visit the train station, the river station, period mansions, rowing clubs, the coastal promenade, and you will be able to see part of the 16 rowing clubs that Tigre has. We will also talk about the river activity, the Parque de la Costa, the casino, and the Puerto de Frutos.
And if you feel like it, we can end with a tour of five of the most representative rivers of the Tigre Delta.
Of course, we will stop to take photos at all the places you like 📸
My idea is for us to have a wonderful day, discovering romantic, curious, and even a little mysterious stories...
See you soon!
Best regards,
Sabrina ✨
