Enjoy the Stonegrill® Dining Experience in the atmospheric outback surroundings of 'The Welcome Home'. Situated at the heritage end of Eagle Street, Longreach, The Welcome Home is like stepping back in time and is always a sociable and relaxed occasion. Early settlers often cooked their meat on a hot stone in a camp-fire and the Stonegrill® Dining Experience brings this concept inside with extras that would have been a feast for a pioneer! Cook your meat (or fish) on a hot volcanic stone at the table, then add your choice of side dishes and sauces. Main course is followed by a chance to sample a range of traditional homestead desserts at the delicious, all-you-can-eat dessert and lolly bar.

Nogo Station Experience – An Authentic Outback Adventure Join the Kinnon family for an insider’s journey into outback station life, filled with sights, sounds, and a touch of outback humour. Explore Longreach’s heritage, step inside the historic shearing shed for the Merino wool story, and visit Captain Starlight’s stockyards. Then, embark on a breathtaking open-top safari across the vast plains, spotting native wildlife and iconic outback animals. Finish your adventure with a delicious pioneer-style home-baked saddle-bag lunch under the gum trees. A genuine taste of the outback!

An evening of outback tradition and legend. Cruise down the splendid Thomson River at sunset on one of our heritage boats. Watch the birds come home to roost on the riverbanks and learn about the local flora, fauna and history. (Nibbles provided, BYO alcohol) As darkness falls, the boat moors at Outback Pioneers' river camp for a 2-course stockman’s dinner around the campfire. Our bush poet charms the crowd. After dinner watch the ‘Starlight’s Spectacular Sound & Light Show’ – a movie in the open-air riverbank theatre. The Kinnon family commissioned this exclusive movie to celebrate the tale of Captain Starlight. Finally, enjoy tea, damper and golden syrup by the campfire under a million stars.

On our Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience you’ll travel in a restored stagecoach on our award-winning tour – first at a leisurely pace through town and then full-tilt along a stretch of the original Longreach-Windorah mail route. Hear the pounding hooves of the magnificent horses on the outback dirt road. Hear the rattle and creak of the coach. Hold on to your hat for the only stagecoach gallop in Australia! It’s exhilarating. It’s entertaining. And it’s the closest you can get to feeling what it would have been like in the pioneer past. After the ride (depending on your itinerary) slow down with a traditional smoko (scones, jam, cream with tea). You'll also enjoy a classic Australian bush movie in retro cinema seats. Afterwards, browse through the Cobb and Co Courtyard collection.

The colours of the outback come alive at sunset as you glide down the Thomson River aboard the M.V. Longreach Explorer. After a warm welcome by our experienced crew, take your seat on the top deck ready to capture 360-degree sweeping, river and floodplain views. Our Captain will enthral you with captivating stories about the river, its wildlife and Indigenous heritage. Enjoy complimentary nibbles on board, and purchase icy cold drinks from our licensed bar. Photo opportunities are endless, but our stop at Sunset Bend is a hands-down favourite. As we leisurely cruise back to our dock, you will see stunning vibrant sunset colours as they fade into starlight.

Experience our heritage Rail Motor en-route to the one pub town of Ilfracombe, with stories of nostalgia to tell your mates about for years to come. Feel the freedom of the vast open plains to Ilfracombe before disembarking in Ilfracombe to explore the unique attractions in “the Hub of the West” like the Wellshot centre, the Machinery Mile and grab some lunch at the Famous Wellshot Hotel. After a great break exploring this historic town, re-board the train for the journey back to Longreach Railway Station.

Go behind the scenes and travel back in time to those early years of Qantas with a Long reach local and fellow enthusiast. Be mesmerized when you tour the inside of the four iconic aircraft located under the 8000m2 airpark roof and feel like a rockstar when touring the Boeing 707 – a private jet! The storytelling takes guests back to the beginnings of where Qantas started in the amazing Outback Queensland. Come along and visit Long reach, the home of Qantas; right where it all began.
