Lukomir is the highest and most isolated village in Bosnia. This hike is also the most popular hike in the country. And for a good reason. It offers all: amazing views, long walks, culture, history and legends. This is the most popular one day trip from Sarajevo. We start our tour on the southern slopes of Bjelašnica mountain, from medieval Umoljani village. We will make a short stop on ancient necropolis at Dolovi, and then continue towards Umoljani. We will then pass through Gradina - highland summer village, and go to Studeni Potok stream. On the way, we will visit 40-meter Peruće Waterfall before continuing to Lukomir. Our last stop - Lukomir village. It lives the same life for more than 600 years, Bosnia’s highest and most isolated mountain village. On the edge of the village you will be treated to a breathtaking view of Rakitnica Canyon. We will have traditional homemade lunch prepared by our hosts. You will also have the opportunity to purchase local handcrafts

Come with me to explore the wonders of Sarajevo and its 500+ years of vibrant history. Known as the Jerusalem of Europe, Sarajevo is far more than the capital of an unknown Balkan country—it is a city where cultures, religions, and empires have met and mingled for centuries.

Our journey begins in the lively streets of Baščaršija, the Old Town, at the iconic Sebilj fountain, a symbol of the city’s Ottoman heritage. We then stroll along the main street that beautifully showcases Sarajevo’s multicultural identity, where four major places of worship stand proudly within walking distance: the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Old Synagogue, and the Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos

We’ll stop at the site of the 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the event that triggered World War I, and cross the charming bridges over the Miljacka River. Our walk concludes at two of Sarajevo’s most striking landmarks—the majestic City Hall (Vijećnica) and the legendary House of Spite, a symbol of resilience and pride.

During the tour, you will find out why Sarajevo is called European Jerusalem and see the most important monuments in the Old Town of Sarajevo.

We will go to the most recognizable landmark of Sarajevo - Sebilj, the wooden fountain located on Baščaršija square, also known as Pigeon Square, and after that, you will enjoy a real flashback to the 15th century, enjoying unique copper craft in Kazandziluk street – the oldest street in the city of Sarajevo.

Our next stop would be Sarajevo City Hall - the most beautiful Austro-Hungarian-era building, another symbol of Sarajevo.  Beside the city hall, this building served as National and University Library.

One of the most interesting spots of the tour will certainly be the medieval  caravan Saray still testifying to the Ottoman influence on Bosnian culture and architecture.

Our guide will take you to the biggest and one of the most beautiful mosques in Sarajevo -  Gazi Husrev-bey's Mosque.  Nearby the most beautiful mosque in Europe, you will see a unique Clock Tower famous for showing a completely unusual time whose story our guide will certainly not miss to tell you.

After seeing the “Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures” spot, you will see the oldest Jewish synagogue in our city and learn more about the Jewish community in Sarajevo.

Later on, will continue in direction of the modern part of Sarajevo where you will find a completely different architectural style typical for the Habsburg Monarchy. We will see the imposing  Cathedral and statue of Pope John Paul II who visited Bosnia twice. Right next to the Cathedral, we will talk about Sarajevo roses. We will also see the imposing orthodox church in Sarajevo - The cathedral of the Nativity of the Theotokos, and, later on, pass by the charming ottoman Bazar – Gazi Husrev-beys Bezistan.

Tour finishes next to the famous Latin Bridge, Franz-Ferdinand˙s assassination site, and this incredible story that changed the history of the world.
