These days it’s occasionally used by technicians maintaining an airport navigation light up there, and occasionally by hikers like us. In 2017 the trail was destroyed by hurricane Irma with fallen trees and land slides. In 2020 our team of three cleared and create a new trail all the way to the top! Now we can enjoy this hidden gem!

Cane Gardens Bay gets its name from the sugar cane which is still grown in the area to this day, Cane Garden Bay is famous for the various activities that are offered in the area. It is a favorite for sailors, sunbathers, swimmers and water sports enthusiasts.

Explore Tortola historic sites by traveling up Great Mountain Rd to a 460 foot mural on Fahie Hill where you will see a series of colorful murals done by different local artists. Each mural is a vignette of an old way of island life, from “banking” (terracing) crops on the island’s steep hills to cutting sugarcane to telling ghost stories by lantern light. We will pull over to give the murals a good look. Move on to J.R. O'Neal Botanic Gardens and the Rum Distillery one of the last of its kind in the British Virgin Islands.
