6 Hour Algonquin Park Canoe Trip

This group adventure is the perfect way to sample canoe tripping, without camping overnight. There is challenging paddling (8-16km), tranquil drifting, portaging (600m), hiking (1.5km), cliff jumping (if you want), swimming, a scenic lookout, historic landmarks, wild edibles (in season), spectacular landscapes and wildlife observation (usually birds, butterflies, turtles & small mammals; periodic moose & larger mammals). Our canoes are all custom made 4 seaters, convenient for families and making new friends. These lightweight kevlar boats are easy to carry (solo or tandem) over the short portage. Lunch is a fabulous sandwich from Henrietta's Pine Bakery. We also serve a granola bar snack. Participants must bring at least 2L of water. Our naturalist guides have only the highest levels of training and certification. They ensure a safe, educational and intimate connection to Algonquin Park. Tom Thomson fans can literally walk in the famous artists footsteps when we visit his memorial and other locations. A private three hour Algonquin Park bicycle tour with the Algonquin Adventure Tours founder. We offer a relaxed three hour, two wheeled, voyage into local nature, history and culinary delights. We have bicycles (GT and Devinci mountain bikes) and helmets for every occasion. XL-XS adult frames, kids frame(10-12yrs), child tandems for smaller kids, a child trailer for two toddlers and a full sized tandem (for an adult with no experience or vision). The trail is a mostly flat, dirt & gravel, former railway bed. There is no technical riding on this trail. Although, we may ride through mud puddles if it has recently rained. the nature/history and stop at special locations. HD binoculars are provided to each participant. Our guide on this program is a five year company veteran who is an accomplished amateur ornithologist. Since he grew up locally, and spends all his free time birding, he is the best way to learn about the 270+ birds that inhabit Algonquin Park. You will meet your guide at west gate entrance of Algonquin for 6:20am. Trail options (easy - challenging) will be discussed and you will follow the guide to the chosen destination. Tour runs 7-10am.
