This tour is a gentle and thoughtful stroll through the heart of the city — not a race to collect sights, but a journey through time, tradition, and memory. With every step, we uncover layers of history and culture, told through stories that breathe life into streets, buildings, and forgotten corners. We don’t rush like headless flies trying to see it all. Instead, we pause, reflect, and truly connect with the places that shaped this city’s soul. It’s not about how much we see, but how deeply we feel what we see.

This tour is ideal for families or groups of friends that wish to explore 3 islands and all of their best spots. Since the tour is fully private, the itinerary is not fixed and can be agreed upon with your skipper before you start the tour. The Elafiti islands are an archipelago situated close to and slightly northwest of Dubrovnik. There’s actually six islands in the archipelago, not including any small islets, although the three main ones to visit and stay on are Koločep, Lopud and Sipan. Two of the three islands, Kolocep and Lopud, are entirely car-free, which means they’re an excellent place to base yourself on if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With this option you will spend a full day on the sea, relax in nice private bays, go for a swim, snorkel, sunbathe on the boat and take your pick from several amazing restaurants on the islands. Old City, History & Culture Tour
User rating

This tour starts by the western gates of the Old City and it's a combined overview of the most important landmarks (as well as side streets), the overall history and culture of Dubrovnik.

First learn how the city, also known as The Pearl of Adriatic, came to be, how it grew and became one of the largest walled cities in Europe.

Then immerse yourselves into the turbulent history of the city and Croatia, and you will soon realize why Winston Churchill once said that the peoples of the Balkans produce more history than they can consume.

The first part of the tour includes a bit more of general history but also main sites and landmarks, the second half includes less general history and more main sites, monuments, lovely side streets and details.

IMPORTANT:

Please DON'T book this tour if you:

- prefer "fun" facts and casual chitchat over deeper understanding of the city's history
- don't understand English well
-  think this tour is a 2h "Blitzkrieg" of all sites/monuments without any history telling and explanation (you can do that on your own).

Note it's impossible to cover the entire Old City in a 2h walking tour, and we don't enter museums and churches.

You will see:

  • Kolorina Cove
  • Saint Lawrence Fortress;
  • Bokar Fortress
  • Pile Gate (western gates and moat) and the Main Street (Stradun)
  • Large Onofrio's fountain
  • Franciscan Church
  • Old Granary
  • Jesuit stairs (GOT Walk of Shame stairs)
  • Jesuit Church
  • The Cathedral
  • Rector's palace
  • Sponza palace and more.

- Maximum number of participants: 17 (group bookings are not allowed)
- I suggest to take a bottle of water and use the toilette before the tour
- if you're going to be late, please contact me on WhatsApp 00385 98 933 6062

Note that the partner guide Vlaho or Vedran can also perform this tour.

IMPORTANT:
By booking this tour you except the terms & conditions of the tour provider.
Price is determined by Guruwalk.com but failing to pay, the price will be formed in respect to the official price list included VAT (no pay is considered a no show) .

Half-day boat tour to the Elaphite Islands with Blue Cave visit
Cast off from Lapadskaa Obala for a half-day island escape around the Elaphite Islands. You'll be cruising on a leut, a traditional wooden fishing boat, with your captain, a true local who knows every hidden cove and secret spot in these waters like the back of his hand. He says “the Elaphite Islands are full of hidden treasures, and I know every nook and cranny.” As you glide over the Adriatic Sea, you can sit back with a glass of wine, a cold beer, or a soft drink, sailing towards your first stop – the bay of Kolocep. There's time to cool off with a dip in the sea before heading to Sunj Beach, famous for its soft golden sand and calm shallow waters – perfect for a bit of sunbathing, or another swim if you're feeling keen. Along the way, you'll uncover tucked-away coves and secret spots only locals know about. Your final stop is the Blue Cave, a natural wonder carved into the limestone cliffs of Kolcep Island. Formed over thousands of years by the crashing of the waves, the entrance is low and narrow. But, once you're inside, it opens up into a glowing chamber of blue light. Sunlight filters through an underwater opening, reflecting off the white seabed and bathing the cave in an otherworldly glow – a surreal swimming spot to round off the day.

Hello everyone, my name is Laura and I will show you my hometown the same way I enjoy it.
The meeting place is next to the Large Onofrio's fountain, located at the beginning of the main street - Stradun.

Blue Cave by night
User rating
As you cruise around the wild green island of Kolocep in the Adriatic Sea, you'll catch a glimpse of traditional Croatian life, with its peaceful fishing villages, sprawling Mediterranean landscapes and mesmerising caves. You'll gather at the dock for a quick safety briefing before setting sail on an evening adventure that takes you to the island's famous caves that have been carefully carved by the sea over thousands of years. Local guide, Mia, says "I love asking guests which cave is their favourite because they're so different. The Green Caves feel rejuvenating and full of life, while the Blue Cave has a more mysterious feel."After a cruise across the calm waters of the Adriatic, you'll approach the lesser-known but utterly magical Three Green Caves, affectionately known as the ‘Three Sisters'. The captain will drop anchor, giving you around half an hour to swim around and explore. To see the emerald-green reflections that give them their name, head to the largest green cave. And, if you're feeling adventurous, swim through the narrow passage of the Canyon Cave to see the light and shadows dance on the cliff walls. Hop back onboard, where there's plenty of soft drinks, beer and wine, and head to the south of the island and the famous Blue Cave. Mia adds “in the evening light, the tunnels and caverns take on a whole new level of beauty.” You'll have time to take in the peaceful atmosphere and vivid blues for yourself as you moor up for around 30 minutes here. Then, it's back on the boat for a few drinks and some music as you return to the dock with a new appreciation for nature's masterpieces.

On this nearly 2-hour walk you will discover the magnificent and interesting history of this city through the perspective of a local.
Without becoming a tour full of dates and mere historical facts, on this visit you will discover and understand the history of Dubrovnik from its beginnings to the present day. We will cover the mythical period from the 13th to the 18th century when Dubrovnik was one of the smallest but at the same time most advanced republics, for its maritime trade, in the entire Mediterranean.

During the tour we will visit monuments that cover the mentioned period (XIII-XVIII) such as:

  • Onofrio's fountain
  • Rector's Palace
  • The Franciscan Pharmacy
  • The Jesuit Stairs
  • Sponza Palace
  • and much more.

Of course, we do not forget to mention and explain the recent conflict that immensely affected our city known as the War in the Balkans.

With me you will have an unforgettable experience that will make you look at Dubrovnik with different eyes!
