Welcome to Prague! (Old Town, Jewish Quarter and Charles Bridge)
User rating

Start your Prague visit with this tour! Meet us at the Powder Gate. Look for a guide with the red umbrella with white 100 logo on it! See the most important parts of Prague's historic center: Old Town, Jewish Quarter and Charles Bridge. Learn how to read the Astronomical Clock, the significance behind Czechs' historical tradition of throwing people out of windows, and the must-see and must-avoid activities in Prague.

💶 💳 Our guides accept cash (CZK, USD, EUR, GBP, PLN, CHF, SEK, DKK, AUD, CAD) and cards as they carry portable terminals. Some guides accept PayPal and Revolut transfers. Venmo does NOT operate in the Czech Republic!

You will also cross Charles Bridge because no visit in Prague is complete without crossing Charles Bridge!

After this tour you will be ready for your Prague visit! You will know how to speak Czech (basic Czech 😅), what food is actually local in Prague but most importantly you will know the amazing history of the city we grew up in and that we hold dear in our hearts.

And if you're not ready to say goodbye just yet, don't worry! We offer three other free tours in Prague that you can join. Just check out our profile to find out more. So what are you waiting for? Let's explore Prague together!

⚠️Bookings for groups larger than 6 adults are not accepted ⚠️

‼️Important‼️

  1. Our groups are limited to 30 people, which is one of the lowest maximum capacities in the city (other companies typically accommodate up to 40 people). If this number is too high for your preference, we recommend hiring a private guide.
  2. We are unable to arrange alternate meeting points or assist latecomers in locating the guide, even if they message us via chat. Guides cannot send messages while they are waiting for customers or conducting tours.
  3. Please note that this activity is not recommended for people with mobility challenges.
  4. You are welcome to bring kids on our tours, however, if your child isn’t comfortable with spending 3 hours outside and might start crying, it will be distracting for other customers, so please consider joining shorter tours or looking for a private guide
  5. If you are coming with a stroller, please note that there are about two flights of stairs you will have to carry the stroller down from at the end of the tour.
  6. We DO NOT go inside the synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery because it requires purchasing a ticket. We see the sights of the Jewish Quarter from the outside! If you’d like to visit the Jewish Museum after our tour, please sign up for the 10 am tour so you have a full afternoon to explore. Bear in mind that the Jewish Museum is CLOSED for Shabbat on Saturday.

What will you definitely see:

  • Powder Tower(tour starts here)
  • Municipal House
  • House at the Black Madonna
  • The Estates Theatre
  • Charles University
  • Astronomical Clock
  • Old Town Square
  • Jan Hus Monument
  • Tyn Church

Best of Prague Private Tour with PERSONAL PRAGUE GUIDE

Follow the steps of the travel guru - Rick Steves - and see Prague "through the back door".  Our company is honoured to cooperate with Rick Steves and his company since 2004. We have guided many of their European group tours. You can book the "Best of Prague tour" with us. We do this tour for Rick whenever he comes to Prague to upgrade his book. You can try it too! 🙂  Rick is always very friendly and allowed us to use his name for our business. He never asked for any money. The only rule he expressed was that he is very uncompromising regarding the quality of the books delivered to Rick`s bookholders! This walking tour offers professional and friendly individual care + "a SURPRISE LOCAL TREAT". Every client gets something very local, that you would otherwise miss. We pay attention to the local details ... just as Rick likes. 🙂 Select the number of people in your group (1, 2, 3, etc.) in the “Select date and travelers” menu to ensure you book the correct number of tickets.

Things to know:

  1. Our Prague Castle Tour is a little bit shorter than the other Prague Castle tours on the GuruWalk platform. What allows us to make the tour shorter is that our meeting point is directly below Prague Castle, not in the Old Town. We spend less time getting to Prague Castle. It doesn't mean you will see less!
  2. You will need a public transport ticket. We take tram to Prague Castle (not everyone is able to climb the hill). You can purchase the public transport ticket at the beginning of the tour. We finish the tour at the easter edge of Prague Castle which is about 10 mins walk from the Old Town. You won't need another public transport to return.
  3. Prague Castle area is FREE to enter. You don't need any tickets to visit Prague Castle. However, there are a couple of buildings in Prague Castle you can only visit with an entrance ticket (St. George's Basilica, Old Royal Palace, Golden Lane, and the eastern part of St. Vitus Cathedral). We do not go inside these buildings on the tour. If you would like to visit the paid parts of Prague Castle we suggest joining the 11 AM Prague Castle Free Tour to get an overview of the castle's history. After the tour, you will still have 3-4 hours to explore the interiors.
  4. Our groups are limited to 30 people, which is one of the lowest maximum capacities in the city (other companies typically accommodate up to 40 people). If this number is too high for your preference, we recommend hiring a private guide.
  5. We are unable to arrange alternate meeting points or assist latecomers in locating the guide, even if they message us via chat. Guides cannot send messages while they are waiting for customers or conducting tours.
  6. Please note that this activity is not recommended for people with mobility challenges
  7. If you are coming with a stroller, please note that you might have to carry the stroller up on a tram as not all trams are accessible. Additionally, the tour finishes near the castle steps, but you can take a cobbled car road downhill instead.
  8. Pets are not allowed on this tour.
  9. This tour connects to our Old Town, Jewish Quarter, and Charles Bridge Free Tour. You can easily combine it since there is a 2-hour long break between each tour. See our profile and which other free tours you can join with us in Prague!

 !!!IMPORTANT!!!
Due to the installation of the St. Vitus Cathedral Organ, the FREE SECTION OF ST. VITUS CATHEDRAL IS CLOSED. At this time, the duration of the closure is uncertain, but it's estimated to last at least until April 2024. Until then, visitors can only access the paid section of the St. Vitus Cathedral. WE WILL NOT ENTER THE CATHEDRAL on the Free Prague Castle Tour until the organ installation is finished.
