Glory & History: In the Footsteps of Emperors and Democrats
Frankfurt is so much more than just glass and steel – it's the historical memory of Germany! 🏛️👑
My name is Holger, and as a Frankfurt resident by choice for the past 13 years, I am fascinated daily by the incredible density of history in such a small area. Frankfurt is a metropolis with heart, where tolerance and cosmopolitanism meet centuries-old tradition.
A journey through time:
Join me on a journey to the former center of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation . We will walk where powerful emperors were elected and crowned, and visit the place considered the cradle of German democracy . It is a journey in the footsteps of those who shaped our history: from visionary poets and thinkers to courageous democrats.
Here's what you can expect:
We delve deep into the era when Frankfurt was the political center of the Holy Roman Empire . For over 400 years, German emperors were elected and crowned here. We walk along the historic coronation route and experience the leap from the imperial era to the birth of German democracy.

- 🏛️ Römerberg: The historic town hall and heart of the old town.
- 👑 Imperial Hall: Where the magnificent coronation banquets once took place.
