Things to Do in Regensburg
Follow me through the streets of Regensburg's old town and listen to the stories and legends of almost 2000 years of history. The tour takes us from the beginnings of the Roman fortress to the rise as a medieval trading city and the temporary decline to today's heyday.
Find out why the "Perpetual lmperial Diet" ended after all, what the devil has to do with the Stone Bridge and why Regensburg is considered the "single capital" of Germany.
We start at the House of Bavarian History and walk all the way to Bismarckplatz in the west of the old town. On our way through the countless alleys, we pass some masterpieces of ancient and medieval architecture:
- the Stone Bridge
- the old Townhall
- St. Peter's Cathedral
- the walls of the Roman fortress
- the Duke’s Courtyard
- ...
Experience all facets of my adopted home, where every day feels a bit like vacation, and understand why I don't want to move away from here anytime soon.
If there are no tours available at the moment, contact us directly through GuruWalk, Facebook, or Instagram (see below).
Join us on an exciting journey through over 2000 years of Regensburg's history and discover why our hometown has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2006.
Together, we will stroll through the winding alleys of the old town, passing by impressive buildings, medieval patrician houses, and the places where important historical events occurred. You will hear fascinating stories, surprising facts, and local anecdotes that you won't find in any guidebook.
Why is Regensburg often called the "northernmost city of Italy"? What secrets lie behind the Stone Bridge? And how did a Roman legionary camp become one of the most important cities of the Middle Ages?
On our tour, we will visit, among other places:
• Neupfarrplatz and the history of the Jewish Quarter
• The Golden Tower and the patrician families
• St. Peter's Cathedral
• Porta Praetoria – Roman Regensburg
• The Stone Bridge and its legends
• The Goliath House
• The Old Town Hall
• Haidplatz
For many years, we have guided visitors from all over the world through Regensburg, showing them not only the most famous sites but also why this city is such a special place to live.
We look forward to showing you our Regensburg!

Hello,
As a physician with a big heart for history and Regensburg, I would like to combine my passions for medicine, history, and Regensburg in this medical history city tour through Regensburg. I would be happy to share with you the most exciting and curious facts and anecdotes that Regensburg has to offer. How was medicine practiced in the past? What illnesses affected people in the past, and how were they treated? We will touch on all chapters of Regensburg's city history, starting with the Romans and ending with today's modern hospitals. My goal is to tell the most exciting and curious stories in an entertaining city walk and to structure it in a way that is interesting for everyone – explicitly not just for medical personnel as the target group, but for everyone! 🙂
I appreciate any interest! 🙂
