Things to Do in Sokcho

The DMZ Museum is closed on Mondays. Please book Monday tours only if you do not need to visit the DMZ Museum. It’s also available for cruise tourists. Depending on how long you’re staying, you can choose: Seoraksan + DMZ or Missionary Memorial Hall + Syngman Rhee’s Villa + DMZ. If you’ve already been to Seoraksan, you can choose the alternative course instead. You can enjoy everything in Sokcho in just two days. On one day, take a healthy walking tour around the city. Walk past Sokcho’s landmarks, Seorak Bridge and Geumgang Bridge, and explore downtown. For places that are harder to reach, like Seoraksan and the DMZ, join my tour and travel comfortably and easily. Experience the unique East Coast DMZ, different from Paju. Enjoy its beautiful coastal scenery and feel the real tension of the military standoff between North and South Korea.

Most of the visitors to South Korea consider exploring the DMZ and tend to choose Gyeonggi-do routes that are mostly commercial, but this tour would likely be much more private and less crowded. Furthermore, this is an hour's drive away from the MT Seoraksan, so if you plan to visit the Seoraksan, you would be able to enjoy two attractions on one itinerary. Additionally, on the way back, you can enjoy North Korean cuisine for lunch and grab a chance to observe traditional Korean architecture.
