HOW TO GET UP TO THE CASTLE?
- By elevator: It costs € 2.70 per person (including children), but if you are retired and carry your ID, it is free. Currently there is a limitation of 4 people per elevator trip, so if you come on a busy date, think that long lines can form, so it is advisable to go with some time. If you take this option, to get to the meeting point of the tour: stop on floor 1 , walk down the corridor (there is only one) and when it ends you will be inside a building (Felipe II Hall), when you leave that building, You will be in the Patio de Armas, the meeting point of the tour.
- By car: You can go up by car, but you cannot park inside the Castle. On the uphill road, you will find a couple of parking lots, but no one can take you back on foot (15min approx) , so it is advisable to go with some time. We recommend you try the parking lot of the Ereta restaurant, which is the only street that enters on the right, if there is room, it is from where you will least walk. If there is no room, a little further down there is another parking lot visible from the road.
- By taxi: If you take a taxi at the stop in front of the Central Market, it shouldn't cost more than € 5-6 and it will drop you off at the door. It is the most comfortable and if you are several cheaper than the elevator.
- On foot: There are several ways to climb, currently the access to the wall is closed . So the fastest paths will be through the prickly pear park or through the Ereta park . Allow 30-40 minutes if you are going to walk up. When entering the Castle, not the first door, but after the arch that gives access to the enclosure, you will see a building with flags and a square, that square is the parade ground.
We remember the mandatory use of a mask due to Covid-19 in order to participate in the route.

When night falls in Alicante, we prepare to bring you closer to the most unknown and dark side of the city.
Join this walk where legends, mysticism and macabre stories will be the protagonists. You will never see Alicante with the same eyes again!
We will meet in front of the Town Hall , under the Clock Tower, to let ourselves be enveloped by the mysterious air that the buildings that stand out illuminated in the dark acquire.
A long time ago, at this very point where we are, an event as violent as it was strange happened that would change the history of the square forever. Come closer and we will tell you. Meanwhile, before our eyes, the bell of the Tower will protect us from possible curses .
Our steps will take us to the Plaza de la Santa Faz to talk about legends and miracles of this relic, but also about curious popular beliefs that surround it.
Our next story awaits us in the emblematic Basilica of Santa María. We will tell you about the myths that, for hundreds of years, have circulated about this ancient Alicante temple. But some religious buildings are not as enigmatic as the characters that inhabit them and, for this reason, we will introduce you to a mystical nun from Alicante who has remained uncorrupted in the city for more than 300 years.
Speaking of enigmatic things, have you ever noticed the curious profile that Mount Benacatil hides? Legend has it... that you cannot leave Alicante without knowing the tragic story behind its name. But the Castle houses more mysteries to tell and ghosts to meet.
We will once again wander through the narrow and picturesque corners of the city until we reach the Santa Cruz neighborhood, in the heart of the historic center, to discover dark stories from another time. Memories that are far away today but that connect us with the most unknown face of Alicante: spiritualism, crimes, diseases.
On our night walk, we will learn the stories of real people from Alicante history who lived (and died) in our city. After leaving Santa Cruz behind, we will continue towards the Market area, watching over the victims of one of the cruelest episodes in the city.
⚠️👦🏻This tour is not recommended for children due to the explicit content of violence, sex and criminal events.
On this tour, we'll discover the most wonderful corners of Alicante's historic center, secret places that go unnoticed at first glance, with many details and stories to tell. As we walk through Alicante, we'll uncover its history, its curiosities, and its most fascinating and dark myths and legends that will make you shiver when you hear them (when you get home, you'll remember princesses, heroes, and tragedies... you'll love it).
During our trip, we'll visit the city's most iconic sites, starting with the Esplanade, stopping to observe the wonderful Carbonell House, where I'll tell you about the interesting facts about its construction. At the Town Hall, we'll talk about the origins of Alicante and all its inhabitants, and then we'll visit the city's most important churches: the Basilica of Santa María and the Co-Cathedral of San Nicolás. After seeing these three buildings, I'll challenge your visual acuity to see if you can tell me what elements they have in common (I'm sure you can do it without my help). At the foot of Santa Bárbara Castle, the flowery Santa Cruz neighborhood will capture your attention. There are also two squares with typical elements of 19th-century modernism where you can rest and sit. The Witches' House will leave you breathless. We'll learn stories that shaped the Spanish Civil War in places like the Central Market and the port, where our visit will conclude.
