I'm Josué and I welcome you to the beautiful Renaissance city of Úbeda , where I invite you to discover this Renaissance gem in the province of Jaén, twinned with the city of Baeza, sharing the title of World Heritage Site with it since 2003.

On this occasion, we will have the opportunity to visit the city that has the most monuments per square meter in Europe. We're not just talking about their number, but also about the architectural beauty they possess, as well as their originality, personality, and history imprinted in each of their buildings. We'll depart from the Mirador de El Salvador , where we'll learn about the city's origins, marveling at the majestic Guadalquivir Valley and trying not to get lost in "Those Hills of Úbeda...". We'll take a magical journey through the narrow streets of the city's historic center, learning some of the intricacies that took place in the Gradeta de Sto. Tomás, along with the events that led Saint John of the Cross to end up in the Convent of the Discalced Carmelites of San Miguel. We'll stop at the Plaza del 1º de Mayo , where the first market square and meeting point of Úbeda society was located. On our way back, we will pass through the emblematic Calle Real and finally we will end up in the monumental Plaza de Vazquez De Molina , the authentic Olympus of the patrons of Ubeda, among whom we find on the throne Francisco de los Cobos y Molina, secretary of state of the Emperor Charles V and one of the great people responsible for providing the splendor that the city knew during the 16th century and that is still evident in its numerous buildings.

- Plaza Vázquez De Molina (Chapel of the Savior and Palace of Dean Ortega).

- Convent of San Miguel (Church of San Miguel and Oratory of San Juan de la Cruz).

- Vázquez de Molina Square (Vázquez de Molina Palace, Our Lady of the Royal Alcazares, Bishop's Prison, Royal Granary and Palace of the Marquis of Mancera).

IMPORTANT: For the tour to run, a minimum of 5 walkers must be present. If the agreed minimum number is not met, the tour may be canceled up to one hour before the tour begins.

Our visit will begin in Plaza de Andalucía, and will end in Plaza Primero de Mayo.

We continue on our way seeing the so-called Bishop's Prison, the Palace of the Marqués de Mancera, the Old Pósito and the Renaissance Fountain (gift from the Venetian Senate to Francisco de los Cobos) while we head inside the Palace of Deán Ortega. We cannot leave this square without seeing the Sacred Chapel of the Savior of the World, Funerary Pantheon of the Secretary of Carlos I of Spain and V of Germany, to continue towards the neighborhood of San Pablo, where the first public fountain of Úbeda is located, the Old Town Hall and the Church of San Pablo, which gives its name to the neighborhood.
