The day begins with an early morning pickup from Arusha at 7:00 AM or Moshi at 8:30 AM, followed by a scenic drive to Machame Gate (1,640m) for park registration and a warm welcome from your expert guides and porters. The trek winds through enchanting rainforest alive with playful monkeys, colorful birds, and towering ferns, gradually ascending to Machame Camp (3,000m), with short breaks to admire waterfalls and viewpoints. The trail then opens to the breathtaking Shira Plateau (3,800m), a moorland of unique alpine flora and panoramic vistas of Kibo Peak. A packed lunch fuels optional short climbs to Shira Ridge.
