Things to Do in Kelleys Island

This is a guided adventure with an experienced kayak instructor/ tour guide. All of your equipment is provided as well as brief instruction on kayaking. The equipment is safe, and the tour is fun for beginners as well as experienced paddlers.The views are incredible along the edge of the Island, and the sunsets are amazing. This guided tour takes you to all the best places in the Kelleys Island State Parks and Preserves. Starting at the Glacial Grooves explore the unique history of the Island from the Ice Age, and all the way to the Devonian Era. This interesting tour is an active hike and bike through the trails with brief stops to learn and rest. The two hour adventour includes The Alvar Preserve on the North Shore, pebble beach, and also East Quarry State Park.

The Kelleys Island Treasure Tour begins and ends at the Kelleys Island State Park kayak launch, where the wide, open water of Lake Erie stretches out like a sparkling path waiting to be explored. A friendly guide meets the group, helps everyone get comfortable in a kayak and with a life jacket, and gives a quick, confidence-boosting lesson on paddling and safety. When everyone is ready, you push off from shore and glide out onto the lake, following the guide across rolling waves toward two hidden island “treasures,” special state park sites you can reach by water. At each stop, you hop out to explore, climb around, and discover the area's unique features. After visiting both treasures, you paddle back across the lake, stronger and more confident than when you started. The whole adventure takes about two hours, with the guide by your side the entire way to keep you safe and share exciting facts about the island.

We will meet you downtown at either ferry dock. After a quick bike fitting, we’ll set off on our exciting adventure to explore Kelley’s Island. With our electric bikes, we’ll cover most of the island, stopping at key historic and nature sites for photos and breaks. Our knowledgeable tour guide will take you to the best locations, sharing valuable insights along the way. We’ll return to the starting location after two hours, ensuring a fulfilling experience.
