Welcome to our free walking tour through three of New York City's most fascinating and culturally rich neighborhoods: SoHo, Chinatown, and Little Italy. Join us on a unique journey through the hidden stories, flavors, and symbols of the city, told from an alternative and anthropological perspective.

🥐 Starting Point – Dominique Ansel Bakery

We begin at the iconic Dominique Ansel Bakery, home of the famous Cronut (a croissant-donut hybrid). It's the perfect stop to energize before our cultural adventure begins.

🎨 SoHo – Art, Iron & Urban Transformation

We’ll explore the elegant streets of SoHo, known for its cast-iron architecture, a remnant of its industrial past. Learn how this area evolved into one of NYC’s trendiest hubs for contemporary art and fashion.

We'll stop by some of the neighborhood’s top galleries and design shops, and dive into the creative movements that shaped SoHo’s identity. Join me on an adventure through 3 of Downtown Manhattan’s most iconic neighborhoods! 

We begin in Tribeca-once home to Manhattan’s dairy markets and textile factories, now the home to celebrities and posh lofts, this was the neighborhood most affected by 9-11. Next we’ll explore Soho- the quintessential artist’s enclave in the 1980’s, now the home of chic boutiques and the world's largest remaining collection of gorgeous cast iron buildings. We wrap things up in Nolita- a part of Little Italy until the 1990’s, this charming little neighborhood is home to mob history, New York’s only basilica, and the best cupcake in NYC (the “Little Cupcake Bakeshop.”) 

Every neighborhood in NYC has its own unique character- you’ll experience 3 in only 2 hours! I’ve been a New Yorker for almost 30 years, and I’ll give you not just the important history, but the current culture as well. We’ll talk theater, restaurants and nightlife, art and architecture, as well as my own personal experiences with the area. I’ll give you tips on how to navigate the city more smoothly, and explain the mysterious ways of the New Yorker to you. And we’ll find time for some laughs along the way…I love NYC with all my heart, and I can’t wait to share my knowledge with you! 

Let me lead you through  New York City’s most picturesque and storied neighborhood: Greenwich Village. With winding tree-lined streets, stately brownstones and famous parks, it’s arguably the most beautiful neighborhood in Manhattan. It’s also one of the city’s oldest, with almost 400 years of history. Every important artistic, cultural and political movement of the 20th Century had a home here- from prohibition era Speakeasy’s, to the Beat writers of the 1950’s, to the folk and psychedelic rock of the 1960’s. Let me show you where the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement was born at the Stonewall riots while Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix performed on Macdougal St. We’ll talk history, architecture, culture and have a few laughs along the way. Come and spend some time with a real New Yorker- I’ll show you my favorite spots, and give you the real scoop on what it’s like to live in this glittering global city.

Starting near the World Trade Center, we will walk down Broadway, with the opportunity to take in some American history.  Stops are designed to both learn about New York and to take photos and will include Wall Street, Federal Hall, the burial place of Alexander Hamilton (Trinity Church graveyard) and the statute of the charging bull.  After a brief stroll in Battery Park, we will walk north along the Hudson River, taking in the view of the Statue of Liberty on our way up to the World Financial Center.   From there, we will take the underground passage to the recently built Oculus, ending at the World Trade Center site.  Wear comfortable shoes and bring questions.   I look forward to showing you part of New York City.

This small group tour comes with half price adult admission.  Please indicate when booking if you need tickets.  This tour can be offered at a time that suits your schedule. 

Join us for this introduction into the METs vast art collection where we will do a survey of western art history from Egyptian Sphinx’s, Ancient Greece and Rome, Renaissance in Europe, French Impressionism, and modern art!

With a focus on western art we will be looking at about 30 works while traveling the globe and thousands of years looking at some of the best treasures in this 2 million square foot museum. Our tour, lead by a practicing artist, will take about 2 and a half hours with a break in between. 

You will see the highlights of the MET without getting lost and learn history about the museum and tips for navigation.  You will have time after our tour to go back and explore the museum on your own.

The Upper East Side is arguably Manhattan’s wealthiest neighborhood.   Elite and quieter, yet still with New York City quirkiness and artsiness.   Join us in this introductory tour of the Upper East Side! We will focus on the Lennox Hill neighborhood looking at Gilded Age era mansions and the modern art galleries as well as places that make the neighborhood unique. 


We will begin at the the little prince statue on 5th avenue, amidts many beautiful Gilded Age mansions.   We will work our way south between 5th and Madison avenues for about half a mile. We will learn about the history of over 15 buildings from their origins to their conversions and current uses and looking at art along the way.
 
Some of the sites we will visit may include :   The Carlyle Hotel, The Gagosian Gallery, Ralph Lauren, The Payne Whitney House ( The  Cultural Center of the French Embassy),  and more!   We will also be visiting inside some of the older buildings to get a taste of their grandeur and going inside some of the various art galleries  with art ranging from early 20th century to now.

Beginning April 23 !
Wednesdays afternoon tour will end at the Frick mansion which offers $5 admission  on Wednesday afternoons.   Please buy your tickets in advance when booking the tour for the 430pm time slot.  

All tours will include visits to an area art gallery.  

Set off on a full day trip to Washington D.C., the capital of the United States and visit Arlington cemetery, see The White House and the Capitol Building!

THE BROADWAY KNOW-SHOWS TOUR

Let's talk about Broadway theater while walking around Broadway theaters! Chris is a theater enthusiast (and recovered actor) who knows about a lot of shows currently running on Broadway. He will be your show matchmaker, informing you about the hype, stories and stars so you can find the show that's right for you. He'll share stories from his years as a show-seer and a show leaving-at-intermission-er. He'll even give you some history about the theater district and its famous theaters, featuring exciting dates like 1903...and 2015!

We'll stop outside the Gershwin, Circle-in-the-Square,  the Actor's Chapel, the Eugene O'Neil, the Ambassador, the Walter Kerr, The Longacre, the Lena Horne, the Richard Rodgers, the Lunt-Fontanne, the Marquis, the Golden, the Gerald Schoenfeld, the Bernard B. Jacobs, the Booth, the Shubert, Shubert Alley, Sardi's, and the Theater Circle Gift Shop.

Chris will find something positive to say about every show...even Moulin Rouge!
