This is the perfect trip for foodies looking for something other than the typical day at the beach.  You’ll be joined by OC and restaurant aficionado Sandy Gillis.  Sandy will be your guide.  You’ll then head out for a 3-hour tour of 3 waterfront restaurants.   On your tour you will sample delicious foods and tasty cocktails.  Depending on your departure point you’ll stop at 3 of the following:  Tailchasers, Fager’s Island, The Green Turtle, Hoopers Crab House, Sneaky Petes, Frog Bar.  Sandy will fill you in on all the fascinating facts about OC and the restaurants you visit.   When this trip is over you’ll have more than just a full belly – you will have also learned a few things.

How did the ponies get there? Did they swim? How many ponies live there? Can you pet the ponies? Can you feed the ponies? The answers to these questions, facts about the island, and the other amazing wildlife living on - and around - Assateague can be answered by your knowledgeable and wise captain. The Sea Rocket has been cruising the coast of Ocean City for nearly 30 years! Departing from 1st street, we will cruise out of the Ocean City Inlet and head up the coast! There are plenty of beautiful sights along the coast as well as wildlife to see! We are always on the lookout for the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin!

This cruise only serves Taharka Bros ice cream! If you don’t know Taharka – the best way to describe it is that it “tastes like heaven.” This is amazing ice cream made in Baltimore. You’ll try some very interesting flavors like the award-winning honey graham, mint flix and chillz, coffee oreo and more. If you want to score some points with your kids or find something to bribe them with then here it is!

The Bay in the evening slows down and gets calm and quiet. All you have to do is sit back, grab your favorite beverage, take a deep breath of the salty ocean air, and relax. The Bay Hopper will glide you across the water giving you a front row seat to some of the Bay’s most amazing wildlife. At this point, you might reach for one of those delicious snacks you packed for the trip and notice the lights in OC start to pop on. Then, you simply watch the sun melt into the water. At this point you’ll feel so relaxed that you might not be able to keep your eyes open. Once the sun sets, your captain will pilot the Bay Hopper back to our pier and you can start your evening on the town refreshed. Or, you have a couple of more drinks, look at the tv for a while and go to sleep. Either way, you’ll feel good.

OC Bay Hopper is the only trip in Ocean City Maryland that offers a hands on crabbing experience. We will depart from our 118th street location in Ocean City Maryland. The captain will explain how to find and get crabs from the Assawoman Bay. He will provide and teach you how to use all the necessary equipment. The captain will explain how to hold and measure the crabs so that you can then keep those that are of legal size. You get to keep the legal size crabs to enjoy for lunch or dinner after the trip.

You will be informed how to do this. On the day of the trip you will board the boat, meet your captain and the boat will leave the West OC Harbor. You'll then head to Assateague Island where you will see the famous wild ponies while staying on the boat and enjoying your smoothie and coffee.
