Our Winter and Summer Safaris are led by a wildlife biologist with years of experience guiding in Yellowstone. During the Winter we will focus on wolf watching, viewing moose, bison, elk, coyote, etc. We will depart your accommodations and head towards Yellowstone’s northern range, undoubtedly one of the prime wildlife viewing spots in the world, it harbors impressive bison herds, wolf packs, and meandering bears. Visitors are likely to depart from the park’s northern lands with at least one, if not more, checks on their wildlife card. Wild and pristine. When thinking about Yellowstone, a vast and amazing back-country, large carnivores, bison herds, iconic geysers, and geothermal features fill the imagination. Weather permitting we will stop to take fun family friendly hike or two to a secluded lake or waterfall. Mid way through the tour we will stop for lunch at a scenic area. Time permitting we will walk the boardwalks of Mammoth Hot Springs. Hot coco and coffee is provided!

Spending the day on Yellowstone’s lower loop will give you an opportunity to experience the best of what Yellowstone has to offer. A long the way stop and see the famous Old Faithful Geyser as it erupts 150 feet into the air. Walk along the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and view the Lower Falls as water plunges 300 feet into the canyon. Visit the colorful hot springs and other thermal features at one of the many geyser basins including Fountain Paint Pots, Black Sand Geyser Basin, and Wet Thumb Geyser Basin. Watch for bison, elk, bears, wolves and numerous other animals in Hayden Valley and other wildlife hotspots. Today we'll be touring Yellowstone's upper, or northern loop, including visiting the best location in the lower 48 states to see wildlife! There are frequent stops along the way! Starting in West Yellowstone, we'll travel along the Grand Loop Road until we get to Canyon Village, where we'll head north, climbing up Dunraven Pass towards Mount Washburn. The tour passes through good grizzly bear terrain before stopping at Tower Falls. The Lamar Valley, Yellowstone's prime area for wildlife viewing, is the next major destination, followed by Mammoth Hot Springs. There is almost always an elk herd to be seen at Mammoth, along with the famous terraces and historic Fort Yellowstone. Roaring Mountain is on the way to Norris Geyser Basin, which is made up of two separate geyser basins and includes the world's highest active geyser. Later we hike to an overlook of the famous Grand Prismatic Hot Springs. If you don't feel like walking we find a safe, scenic spot for you to wait for the group. Next we explore the Old Faithful area, including some time at the famous Old Faithful Inn. We continue over the continental divide and down to the West Thumb Geyser Basin on Yellowstone Lake for a view of some spectacular lakeside thermal pools. Continuing our drive along Yellowstone Lake we arrive at the Mud Volcano near the Hayden Valley. See bison roam along the Yellowstone River. Finally, we arrive at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to view the canyon and the amazing Lower Falls at Artist Point. The day concludes back at West Yellowstone.

This Wildlife Viewing Van Tour is a great way to see the unique animals of Yellowstone National Park. We begin in the fun gateway town of West Yellowstone. The early morning part of the tour explores wildlife haunts in the famous Shadow Canyon of the Madison River. This area is home to bear and elk. Later we scope for wildlife on the shoulders of one of Yellowstone's tallest peaks, Mount Washburn. Next we explore the Lamar Valley, known as the Serengeti of North America. We will use spotting scopes to look for wolves, bears and other wildlife. Enjoy a hot drink and morning snack while watching wolves. Next we visit the Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces for a short walk.
