The Santa Maria di Leuca kayak trip is our most beatiful trip! It takes place along the last stretch of the ionian coast of Salento. It is suitable for those who have never gone kayaking. Included in the price is the SEA KAYAK COURSE FOR BEGINNERS guided by a 2nd level sea kayak instructor of the Italian Canoe and Kayak Federation. On the way we will show you hidden caves and ravines, all to be explored! After putting on the life jackets and entering our kayaks, we will be ready to sail south from Marina di Felloniche , alongside the splendid Ionian coast of Santa Maria di Leuca. We will enter many caves including: Dragon Cave, Lovers Cave, Three Doors Cave, Nativity Cave, River Cave. In the last one you will get off the kayaks for a short stop before going back to Marina di Felloniche.

The historic center of Lecce is one of the most interesting in Puglia. The peculiarity of its Baroque architecture derives from the ability of local artists and architects who, between the 17th and 19th centuries, made it something unique also thanks to the quality of the soft local stone. Crossing the Valley of Idro we will bump into his Byzantine crypt of Saint Angel, and we will reach the foundation “Le Costantine” a center dedicated to organic farming and traditional weaving with old looms. We will cycle towards the megalithic garden of Giurdignano, to admire his prehistoric dolmen and menhir, than we will see a small lake in a disused bauxite quarry.  Stop by a bakery with a stone oven for a delicious lunch with typical products, but also by Porto Badisco for a sweet coffe with ice and almond milk and for a fresh swim.

After that we transfer to the Bauxite Lake and to Palascia Lighthouse with their breathtaking views. In Torre Sant'Andrea and Torre dell'Orso you could find out the clearest water you've ever seen in Puglia. For last you'll visit one of the 10 most beautiful natural pools in the world. Gallipoli and its inland still retain traces of the wealth that the lamp oil trade generated for centuries. First stop is at Alezio for a tasting in a cheese farm, then we go on to Tuglie for the amazing Radio Museum (all the items, including telegraphs, are still in working order!) or for the Museum of Rural Life. Heading back toward the coast, in the Porto Selvaggio Natural Reserve we have a picnic lunch (not included) in the shade of the pine forest and, for those who feel like it, a refreshing swim in the cool spring waters. On the way back to Gallipoli we stop in Santa Caterina to taste one of the best ice cream of the region (they’re specialized in “salty pistacchios”, “almond and figs” and “chocolate cream”). We arrive in Gallipoli by the sunset.
