Tours & Activities in Bar Harbor

This tour is for groups who want to see the harbors and towns of Mount Desert Island outside of Acadia National Park. We are great with groups of mixed ages so the entire family always has a great time. The time is yours, we are not scripted, you can ask a lot of questions and stop at places that interest you to take photos and just explore. Wonderful for photographers or those who want to spend time exploring with their own group.

Your day will be an immersive experience - not only taking in the sights, but learning about what makes this places special - its flora, fauna, history, and stories.

Our guides team is made up of Master Naturalists, experts with Master's Degrees in Outdoor and Sustainability Education, and more! Join your guide for a full day exploring the land and sea of Acadia National Park. Your day may include stops at iconic destinations such as Thunder Hole and Jordan Pond, while also leaving time to hike on the trails and away from crowds. Your guide will work with you to choose walks that are perfectly suited for your group. Along the way, they’ll share stories of Acadia’s history, explain its natural features, and share information about its flora and fauna.

A local guide will show you all of the highlights of Acadia National Park plus the famous Somes Sound and Asticou Gardens! We will pick you up and we’ll drive along the stunning 27-mile long Park Loop Road up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, the highest peak on the eastern seaboard. From Cadillac you can see spectacular views of Bar Harbor and the surrounding islands. See all of the famous sites on the Park Loop Road, including Cadillac Mountain, Rockefeller’s stone bridges & Carriage House, Otter Cliffs, Thunder Hole, and Sieur du Monts Gardens and Nature Center. See Sand Beach surrounded by the famous pink granite coastline. We will continue out of the park to see the summer colony of Northeast Harbor and stroll through the famous Asticou Gardens. See gorgeous harbors, yachts and picnic boats. We can stop and stay as long as you would like at each location. We will point out trailheads and carriage roads to explore on your own.

A local, permitted guide will show you all of the highlights of Acadia National Park plus the famous fjord Somes Sound, the Asticou Gardens and go to an authentic lobster pound (where lobstermen bring their daily catch) for lunch! We will pick you up and we’ll drive along the stunning 27-mile long Park Loop Road up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. From Cadillac summit you can see spectacular views of Bar Harbor and the surrounding islands. See all of the famous sites on the Park Loop Road, including summit of Cadillac Mountain, Rockefeller’s stone bridges, Otter Cliffs, Thunder Hole, and Sieur du Monts Gardens and Nature Center. We will continue on to see the summer colonies of the rich and famous. Drive along the fjord, Somes Sound. Finish in Southwest Harbor to have lunch at an authentic lobster pound while looking over Great Harbor Marina. We can stop and stay as long as you would like at each location. We will point out trailheads and carriage roads to explore on your own.
