This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

Explore Canyonlands National Park on a tour that takes you from mesa top to river bottom. Enjoy a 4X4 driving experience through the backcountry areas, followed by a scenic cruise on the calm waters of the Colorado River. A picnic lunch is included.

Discover one of Utah’s most spectacular state parks on this guided 3-hour, mountain biking tour. Explore Dead Horse Point State Park, offering fantastic mountain bike trails at an altitude of 5,900 feet. This 9-mile adventure features moderate to intermediate single track trail with rolling terrain and a dramatic overlook of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. The tour is most suitable for those riders with some previous mountain biking experience. Use of a bicycle and helmet, plus park entrance fees, a water bottle you get to keep and snacks are included. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon and float a beautiful section of the Colorado River, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

This tour explores the backcountry of Canyonlands National Park (Island in the Sky District) in approximately 4 hours. You will ride along in one of our 4x4 backcountry vehicles with heat and a/c for optimal comfort during all seasons. Throughout this half day experience you will learn all about the parks, history, and geology of the Moab area. Your guide will point out Arch formations, and other towering landscapes along the way. Since our tours are private we can stop for photos at any point. Sight seeing areas on this tour include but are not limited to Potash Mine, Shafer Trail, Musselman Arch, Ancient Indian Petroglyphs (Rock Carvings), Thelma and Louise point, and breathtaking canyon views. This tour will include both pavement sections and 4x4 road sections that are not paved. Water and snacks are always provided for free.
