We start the tour from Piazza Plebiscito (located in the center of Naples, here I start a brief historical introduction of my city and I will tell you about the mysteries, the traditions of my people and something about food ...) where we see the Royal palace with the eight statues of the various monarchs who reigned in Naples and we visit the neoclassical basilica of San Francesco di Paola, we continue towards the San Carlo theater, the most famous in the world and in front of the theater there is the Galleria Umberto meeting center of the Neapolitans (we visit it). Then this street takes us to Piazza Municipio where we see the port and in the background Vesuvius and Castel Nuovo, of which I will tell you the mysteries ... of Queen Giovanna .... we continue towards the ancient Piazza Borsa passing through Corso Umberto for reach the historic center, the picturesque Spaccanapoli (where I was born) where the treasures become legend and we are in Piazza del Gesu 'where in the center stands the majestic spire of the Immaculate Conception; here we visit the gothic church of Santa Chiara which is the most loved by the Neapolitans and the baroque church of Gesu Nuovo and I will explain the mysteries of its imposing rusticated facade. Then a short stop for a coffee and a Neapolitan sfogliatella near Scaturchio, and in two minutes we are in Piazza Nilo the "body of Naples" I show you all the monuments that there are including the San Severo Chapel where there is a beautiful Veiled Christ, there I will speak of the extraordinary personality of Prince Raimondo Di Sangro. We continue to walk through the typical shops and we are in the famous street of the Neapolitan cribs "San Gregorio Armeno" and a stone's throw we are in Piazza San Gaetano the historic center of Naples during the Greek Roman era where the famous Underground Naples is located. After the square we find ourselves in front of the cathedral of S. Gennaro, the oldest baptistery of the west, which we visit and the tour ends here after I, as a good Neapolitan, tell you the story of the miracle of the blood of San Gennaro patron of Naples
Hello travelers, I am a tourist guide, my name is Carmela, I am a kind person with people, I often work with people from other countries. During this tour I will explain all the history, culture and food. I will take you to the charming tourist sites: The Humberto I Gallery, the Town Square, the Maschio Angioino, via Toledo the port, Spaccanapoli street, the church of Jesus Nuovo, the Basilica of Santa Clara, the San Gregorio Armeno street with artisanal stores containing nativity scenes (the Neapolitan crib) and the Cathedral of San Genaro. During this guided tour it is possible to taste good coffee, pizza, sfogliatella and mozzarella.
The tour begins with an appointment at Piazza del Municipio, at the foot of the large structure of San Giacomo degli Spagnoli, Architecture commissioned by Don Pedro de Toledo that stands out on the Angevin pier. The tour proceeds on the front of Castel Nuovo, known to all as Maschio Angioino, a careful visit between history and Templar mysteries. We continue towards the royal quadrilateral formed by the Teatro di San Carlo, the only authentic opera house still in operation today, the Galleria Umberto, an architectural jewel, a copy of the one in Milan. The walk continues towards the Gambrinus literary café, a meeting place for aristocracy and literature such as Gabriele D'Annunzio, Totò, Libero Bovio etc. The highlight of the excursion is Piazza del Plebiscito with the mysteries surrounding the construction of the church of San Francesco di Paola commissioned by Ferdinand IV and the Royal Palace that overlooks the entire Gulf of Naples.
